Playing Catch Up

On Friday Nov. 6th, I took the Comprehensive Exit Exam. If I capitalize it does it seem more important? This test determines whether I have learned enough about the Hospitality and Retail industries to be considered worthy of a degree.  Basically, if I can’t pass, I can’t graduate.

There were five parts to the test: 50 multiple-choice questions on general hospitality knowledge (sounds easy but those questions were tricky); 30 more multiple choice on APA formatting (not sure why that’s important), 2 finance questions (the kind where you end up with two pages of math problems and you still aren’t sure you got the right answer), 30 more multiple choice on Marketing plus a marketing essay, then 4 other essays on various subjects. I should also mention there were two essay questions I did not know how to answer. So rather than skip them, I made up my own questions to demonstrate what I did know. Yeah, I wasn’t sure how that would go over but I figured it was better then leaving it blank.

FOUR HOURS LATER … I left the testing room uncertain of my future. All I knew at that moment was that I still had my health, the love of my life, and a really good God who loves me and has a great plan for me. In the grand scheme of things, even if I royally bombed that test, and all of the faculty and all of my classmates laughed and pointed at me as they got to graduate and I didn’t… I guess I am still very, very blessed.

Sooooo, are you dying to know the outcome? About two weeks after I took the test I received an email that said:

“Congratulations. You passed…Sent from iPhone.“

Pretty anti-climatic, right? But who cares? I PASSED! Thanks so much for all your prayers.

On to a totally unrelated topic…. Friends and Photography.
A few weeks ago some really great friends of ours, Peter and Lauren, offered to take Greg and I out for a photo shoot. Here are some of the faves.

I also want to ask you to pray for our friends who took these pictures. Last week they gave birth to their first baby, a beautiful little girl named Briseis. The baby is in great health but Lauren has been pretty sick since giving birth. She had to have a D&C and a blood transfusion on Thanksgiving Day. She is back home and recovering. If you think about it, please pray for them.

Thanks for checking in on us. There is more to come very soon.
