I hope you all had a blessed Easter weekend. We did for sure. Our church hosted Lubbock's first ever Easter Egg Drop! At about 10:30 Saturday morning 5000 eggs were dropped from a helicopter onto McAlister Park in southwest Lubbock! It was amazing. The only problem was that we had over 5000 people show up to see the spectical. Needless to say, tons of kids went home without any eggs. Bummer! But nonetheless, awesome! We had three bounce houses, face painting, train rides, hotdogs, give aways, and a huge jungle gym.
It was about this time last year that Chirs called Greg and talked to us about this vision God had given him to start a new church in Lubbock. We started out with a group of six people meeting in Chirs and Emilie's living room. We now have two services meeting in a gym. There are over 600 regular attenders and this week we had over 1000 come. On Sunday, our good friend Josh was baptized. We are sooo excited for him! He gave his amazing testimony on Sunday. He talked about being raised Jewish and then later becoming agnostic. He shared about all the questions he had and the research has done over the last year to come to the point of accepting Christ. Every person there this Sunday left having to make a dicision to either acctept what we celebrate on Easter as truth and give their life to Christ or to continue the life they are now living. I am so excited to see what God will do. He is sooo good!
